We will begin with a simple analogy. We apologize in advance for the harshness of the analogy but this is necessary to show how warped the typical perception of the dog-world has become.
Suppose you are considering adopting a child and you have two choices. They are both healthy at the time, but you are told that one of the children is in-bred. Further, because it was born from an incestuous union, it will be more likely to have health problems in the future. Which one would you choose? Let's take this analogy one step further. Suppose you are told that the in-bred child will cost several hundred dollars to adopt while the other would be free. The choice seems preposterous. However, if you apply this analogy to the dog-world, people regularly opt to pay money for the in-bred dog.
