Being a geek and a movie buff, I'm interested in the whole TV-PC-web convergence thing. Some people think that because of demographics, the PC will win out. For young'ns that can't get to the big screen TV because dad is watching the football game, that might be right. But once you get a big screen TV of your own, why on earth would you want to watch video of any kind on your PC? (besides news clips, etc.)

Bringing PC/web functionality to the big screen is where it's at, and clearly Microsoft intends to press this envelope with Xbox 360

I'm not a console gamer, though, and so I'm not going to buy an Xbox 360. At least not before they release a high-def DVD version (gotta get a high-def DVD player anyway, right?)

So this morning I read this article, and I have now seen the future of my TV/PC room. It is Viiv

Add in Windows Vista to the mix, and that's what I'll be asking Santa Claus for next Christmas. (Hope my 3 year old Dell can chug along until then ...)
